Elevate Your Matcha Ritual with the Master-Crafted Takayama Chasen

Unlock the authentic soul of Japanese tea culture with our premium, master-crafted Takayama Chasen (茶筅). Far from ordinary, mass-produced whisks, this exquisite piece is entirely handcrafted in Takayama, Nara—the historic capital of Chasen making with over 500 years of heritage.

Each whisk is a living testament to absolute precision, meticulously split and shaped from a single piece of high-grade bamboo by Kubo Sabun (久保左文), a 24th-generation globally recognized Grand Master Artisan certified by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.

  • Effortless Blending: Creates a smooth, lump-free texture with ease.

Ways to Use

Discover different methods to prepare and enjoy your matcha, from traditional ceremonies to modern variations.

Usucha Matcha: A popular, smooth, and frothy brew. This thin preparation highlights matcha's fresh flavor, perfect for daily enjoyment or informal tea ceremonies.

1

Warm up your tea bowl (Chawan) and whisk (Chasen)

Warming your matcha bowl and whisk (chasen) for 3 mins will help keep the bowl warm to maintain the ideal water temperature of 70-80°C during preparation, and it will also soften the whisk for better frothing.
